Sausages and the Art of Butchery – Arthur at the county show
The Royal Norfolk Show is one of the highlights of the year for me, and 2019’s event lived up to all my expectations.
For the past couple of years I’ve appeared on the Art of Butchery stage alongside my trusty wingman Chris Coubrough.
It gives myself and a host of other great butchers from across Norfolk the chance to showcase our profession, show off our knife skills and pass on a few tips to the discerning meat shopper.
Chris and I decided to make sausages the subject of our demo again this year, not just because it allows us to make some jokes, but also because it allows us to get some audience participation going.
This year we both spotted our dear friend Anthony Hare, long time Norwich City fan and dentist to the stars, sitting close to the front, and it was too good an opportunity to pass up.
It wasn’t long before we had Anthony, known to some of his friends as ‘Lord Hare’, up on the stage helping us make bangers. What a great sport he was too.
